APRILIA NEWS - SBK

================================================================ SBK - Monza (ITA) - Sunday

A day to forget for troy Corser: out in Race 1 and back to the box during the second one. Regis Laconi got a fifth and eight place. Double victory for Bayliss that could reach the leadership.

A difficult Sunday for Troy Corser that loose the Championship leadership. Due the strong chattering on the rear tyre he retired during Race 2, after he overshot at the chicane in the first race. Regis Laconi reached the ninth place on the ranking thanks to a positive fifth and eight place of tomorrow.

Temperatures: Race 1: Air 21° /40° Ground - Race 2: 26°/47°

"During Race1 I tried to brake later into the first chicane, but when I saw Chili going into the same turn I couldn't find the best line" said Troy Corser. "I hit Chili, sorry to Franky, but I was out. During Race2 the rear tyre got out of balance, and banking the bike I had a lot of chattering rapidly increasing. Lap after lap I understood the situation was getting dangerous, It was easier to crash. I had the sensation as a pice of rubber was detaching from the tyre. In any case I could be out of points. Really a bad day, I have just to forget it."

"During the Race 1 first half, It was difficult to brake aggressively due the full tank" said Regis Laconi. "Than I tried to make me up with two Kawasaki using my slipstream. They passed me and I waited the end of the race to try to pass them again, but during the last lap I lost grip going into the "Parabolica" and I couldn't turn on the throttle full speed. For the second race I set up a different gearing and I had a really good start, but after, it was really a bloody brawl of riders. It was very difficult to make me up position. Any way I'm satisfied about this week-end, after a difficult beginning on Friday everything was working better. Now I'm waiting Donington, a well known track".

"Even I couldn't finish both races I'm satisfy," said Alesssandro Antonello. " The bike is very fast, I can ride ahead, I had a good start and I was within the best two. I could set the same pace of the riders ahead. I had to stop the race due a technical inconvenient, I broke the carter gasket, but the bike was really fast. I will do my best at Misano".
