Troy Corser is leading WSBK Championship again
The Australian rider of Aprilia had two good races in the land of
raising sun; he was aggressive in the first race and tactical during the
second one. With the second and sixth place reached today, he scored 22
points ahead Bayliss, his closest competitor. It means back to Europe
after a long period ready to play the important Italian race held on
Monza circuit. Finishing both races at 14th place Regis Laconi that he
could not find the best set-up of his RSV Mille and his partial
experience on this technical track. Frenchman is ready to rise again in
Europe. Double victory for the Japanese Wild Card Tamada: today really
unbeatable.
Temperatures. Race 1: 22° air/41° ground - Race 2: 22°/41° - Clear sky.
"Without a small mistake into the chicane I think that I could make it
difficult for Tamada to pass me", said Troy Corser immediately after
Race1. "During the Warm up I tried a different bike set-up but it was
not the right solution. The squad got a very big job and we could set on
the previous package solution just in time for the race. No matter with
Izutsu, who tried for a long time to attach my second position. I was
really concentrated on the lap timing and I set the pace. I knew very
well the efficiency of the tyres that I choose for the race, so I was
tranquil and safe. " During Race 2" said Corser, "I had a
strong
chattering on the tyre and rim into right hander turns, so I lost time
and track and It was impossible to attack, that's way I preferred to
continue the race tactically."
"A mistake into the chicane at the fifth lap, while I was in eight
position, suggested me to cut off the variant" said Regis Laconi after
the first race, "A rider just come back on the track hit me and after he
was down, I'm sorry for him. I continued to ride with a damaged bike
trying to score some points. In the Race 2, I attacked Edwuards but all
the times I was closed to him, turning on the throttle I was loosing the
rear grip. I had difficulties on the bike set-up, and if you have not a
good racing package is very hard to get something".
